While working as the art director for Outreach Experts, a land-use consulting firm, I befriended an amazing woman named Erin Gibb. Aside from being a great bud, she and I would talk about the ways that we would do things if we owned our own businesses. Her dream was to open an education facility to teach the tools of sustainability to kids. Well, when we both left the office, she and I made it happen. Green Explorers Club was born.
Starting out of my apartment and her house, we cobbled together some ideas for classes, made a quick website, and tried to be as quirky as we could to make lessons fun. Three years later, Erin has taken this dream to a full fledged, growing success for both children and her family.
I am there for everything we need, from web promotion, to class curriculum, to handouts and posters. I love this work. Its so much fun, and knowing I am helping children to understand the value of recycling and responsibility is priceless.
